Week 10:Dragon animation and knight animation in Maya

Based on my own version of the story, I looked for references and then animated the knights, the first walking, the second falling from a height, the third running and then jumping up and chopping, and the fourth crawling on the ground.

The dragons and knights are assets I found online

The cushioning of the jump down is still not good enough for me, so I hope I can improve it by learning body mechanics.

reference:

The run may still be a little stiff and the final cushioning could be made a little silkier.

This move is a reference to the movement of running and then the final movement of chopping is my own idea

crawling on the ground:The crawling animation is about the human desire for wealth and power, and that’s what I’m trying to convey through this movement.

Here’s a sliding shovel sequence dodging flames

Dragon Animation

Dragon animation mainly includes dragon flight animation dragon walking animation dragon fire breathing animation

dragon walk animation

I put the assets I made for the snowy mountains into maya, put in the animation I made earlier for the dragon fly, constrained the path of the dragon fly with the trajectory animation, and then exported the abc cache before putting it into ue5

The animation of the dragon walking is similar to that of a human walking. The hard part I think is the following movement of the head and the body and the tail of the dragon.

Week9:Project environment in UE5

My initial idea was elements from the Song of Ice and Fire, volcanoes and snowy mountains, fight scenes in the middle of lava caves, snow at the beginning and end.

I’m trying to learn to model and texture mountains with gaea

Made fog and drifting snow using a particle system

The snowy landscape consists of snowy mountains on several sides and some flat land in the middle of it On the flat land, I put some dead wood and stones to create the feeling of a broken village.

The cave scene is made up of volcanic rocks and some blueprints of flames where the lights are set off by the lights of the flames.

Dragons breathing fire blueprints

Last scene.

I animated both of these scenes for Flame

Week7:Project Schedule

The inspiration for my project was an allusion to the dragon slaying boy who eventually became an evil dragon. If you fight the dragon too long, you become the dragon; if you stare into the abyss too long, the abyss will stare back. Nietzsche, The Other Side of Good and Evil.

I’ve been dying to finish this film since a year ago, it sprang from my life experiences and the books I’ve read, and for me it’s very difficult for people to assert themselves in the face of temptation

Week6:Ue5 ControlRig system

We first learned that the skeletal system of ue5 adds a waist controller and a master controller to a character and then gives the octopus and dragon the effect of tail shaking.

Week5:Ue5 Physics system

We use the crushing effect to drop a cube from the sky to the ground to create a crushing effect.

It’s a sequence of frames that record the whole process of breaking and then binding the two objects together can have an amazing effect

Learned how to make objects break with special effects

Week4:Knowledge of Ue5 Materials

Learned the material system in ue, knew that each map corresponding to the material node has natural color roughness normal, learned how to apply external map assets.

After further study, I learned that more complex nodes can be used to control the uv of the map and adjust the position of the map to achieve better results

Week3:Level Sequence in Ue5

Learned camera sequences such as how to control multiple cameras and camera arrangements from multiple angles.
